Substantial - Check My Resume (prod. by Oddisee)

DMV representative, Substantial, drops off his brand new single a day early, because he JUST COULDNT STAND US NOT HEARING IT. And I'm thrilled about that. Because this song is dope as hell. Stan's next album, and Mello Music debut, will drop on September 4th, and is titled, Home Is Where The Art Is. In the meantime, grab this little ditty for free over at the MelloMusic bandcamp.

J. Hurt - The Clarity (Mixtape)

Just a couple weeks ago, Elephant In The Room co-creator, AEli, dropped off his new mixtape, Reminiscing With Wine. This week, we get a new project from the other mind behind Elephant In The Room, J. Hurt. This one is called The Clarity. Admittedly, I checked this album out based on how much I enjoyed the AEli tape. And this one is pretty dope too. Definitely has some solid joints on there. So grab it and enjoy...

Black Atlas - The Black Atlas EP (XO Album)

I've been meaning to post this, a little late, but figured I'd still get it archived here. So if you haven't heard it, it's worth checking out. 17 year old Canadian XO rep Black Atlas put out his first complete project recently. It continues with what you'd expect from the XO camp of some futurist R&B/post dub step filtered out come down music.

Shad - Melancholy And The Infinite Shadness (EP)

Shad K takes a page out of my book and drops a free release for the world on his birthday. But if you feel so inclined, you can donate any amount for the EP. Shad is dope, so don't let this one go undownloaded.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Mary Lambert - Same Love

In light of Frank Ocean's recent "coming out," or I like to view it more as just, Frank once was in love with another dude. Either way, people have been talking about homophobia in hip hop, and the world, and etc. And considering that I think homophobia is gay as shit, I couldnt help but support this song. Macklemore on the raps. Ryan Lewis on the beat. Mary Lambert on the hook. The Heist is the album. October 9th is the date.

Tree - Best (Video)

New artist Tree performing his cut "Best". Hailing from Chi-town this needs some attention. -Monk

Breeze Brewin & Parallel Thought - Ice cold

The very dope production duo Parallel Thought are gearing up (july 24th) to release The Art of Sound. I was already very much looking forward to this project....then I come home from work and see that the first single happens to feature one of the most underrated emcees from the beginning of the millennium. If this is a sign of what is to come, I'm all in.
