Tonedeff - Glutton EP
Tonedeff is reinventing the album release. As we have evolved into an ADD nation, Tone has evolved with us. With his latest release, he brings us the Glutton EP. The first of 4 stylistically different EPs that together become his sophomore album, Polymer. Each EP consists of 5 songs, and will be available on bandcamp at the low low price of "name your own price." So you can grab it for free, you can contribute whatever you feel, or (and this is where it gets fun), you can pre-order the full Polymer CD/DVD now, giving you access to the first 3 digital EPs as they are released, and the exclusive 4th EP only available in the physical format to those who pre-order. And Tone will only be pressing as many copies as are pre-ordered, so if you want a piece of QN5 history, get your pre-order in now!

Chance The Rapper - Acid Rain (prod by Jake One)
I've been on the fence with Chance the Rapper, but his last two singles (juice) and now this have pretty much sold me. This time around he's working with the Seattle heavy hitter Jake One.

Joey Purp - I Do(nt) Care (prod by Thelonious Martin)
Chicago's Joey Purp wrecks havoc on this Thelonious Martin beat. For the better part of a minute he tears into this in a sort of Madlib and Doom fashion.

Few day's late on this...but the heavily underrated Co$$ dropped this tape a couple days ago. It's a smooth love themed tape that deserves some attention. Check it out.

I've been telling everyone that was willing to listen about the potential of this album & it looks like that hype train just may be just. Adrian Younge is point blank, a musical enigma. If you haven't had the time to delve into the mans work do yourself a favor and go get your hands on Venice Dawn and Something About April. He said that in making this new album, Born Sinner, he's recorded at least 4 albums worth of material, and these are a few of his favorite joints that ended up on the cutting room floor. So enjoy these, and the official first single for J. Cole's sophomore album will be out "this week."

Lee Bannon - Caligula Theme Music 2.7.5. (Instrumental EP)
If you've been following my post over the years, you may know that I'm a huge Lee Bannon supporter. Over those years he's went from the soulful sample based production from Me & Marvin to chop heavy instrumentalist on Box of Toys 1&2, to this gritty & dark stylings on this nod to the BRK movement.

Tinashe - Reverie (Mixtape)
So, again, I'm a little late on this one. This was released last September, but I had never heard of Tinashe (pronounced Tee-NUH-Shay) until her "Ecstasy" remix came out this past week. At which point I said to myself, "who is this incredibly attractive woman that Ive never heard of before?" And quickly found her latest project with a quick google search. That said, if you like laid back, 90's style R&B, this shit is the jam.

Charles Bradley - Strickly Reserved For You (single)
With labels like Daptone, Numero, and Now Again, the Soul/Funk revivalist movement continues to move along. In 2011, with the release of No Time for Dreaming, Daptone introduced us to Charles Bradley, a former James Brown impersonator. His aged gritty vocals filled with raw passion and pain that came from a life of fighting for success in the music business quickly won over fans new and old. April 2nd Daptone and Bradley return for the follow up with Victim of Love. Here goes Strictly Reserved For You, the first single from the album.
