New music. Mostly Hip Hop. Couple R&B joints. One alternative-y type joint from Thomston. I dont expect everyone to like it. But I fuxwitit. Get that Dag Savage album. The Isaiah Rashad album is dope as shit too. The Grouch & Eligh just put out a three disc album (one G&E disc, one Grouch solo, one Eligh solo). I wanted to put a G&E song called "HELLA FRESH" on here, but it had a Kreayshawn verse on it that I couldnt justify spreading. But Eligh kills it. So youtube it if you want. Also, if you dig Kokayi, he's dropping a song a day for all of 2014 on his soundcloud. So check that. If you like laid back, chill shit, the Rome Fortune tape is dope. New Fly.Union album "Small Victories" coming 3/4. Rick Ross album "Mastermind" coming 3/4. CunninLynguists album "Strange Journey Vol. 3" coming 4/1.

Kannon Presents - Best Of June 2013

Well folks, another month has passed, and half the year is officially over. Summer is upon us, and it's hot as shit. So it's time to break out those blenders, and make some margaritas, lay out by the pool, and throw on the Best of June 2013 mix, brought to you by Kan Diggy. This month was a fantastic month for hip hop. Not only that, but a great month for albums/mitapes. Usually I find a handful of dope singles, but struggle to find any quality albums. This month there was no short in great projects. El-P and Killer Mike released their Run The Jewels project for free, which is easily top 5 of the year so far. Freddie Gibbs released a new album now that he's free from the CTE chains. Drake announced a release date for his upcoming Nothing Was The Same album, and dropped 4 new songs in the process. Dead Poet got me obsessed with a youtube video. Asher Roth rapped on a bunch of people's beats better than they did. We got new singles from Gunplay, Jadakiss, Danny Brown and Vic Mensa. Chase N. Cache and Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire both finally impressed me. I discovered Russ, Vince Staples and Marion Write. We saw new projects from C Plus, Weerd Science, Action Bronson & DJ Mustard. And let's not forget about the June 25th Release Date Trifecta, which may have seen sales going Kanye West, J. Cole, Mac Miller, but dare I say quality went the exact opposite. Anyways, Enjoy another month of free music. If you like the songs, pick up the full projects. Until next time...

Kannon Presents... The Best Of May 2013

Another month, Another collection of music. This was actually a good month for music. Lots of dope shit. Also, a ton of music came out this month that I still haven't gotten around to listening to yet, so I imagine next month will be dope as well haha. This month we heard the first single from Slaughterhouse's upcoming album. AZ returned to music. I turned in my late pass for that DJ Nu-Mark album, and some british dude named Bonobo. Raashan Ahmad proved he can still make dope music without Crown City Rockers. theWHOevers continue to make ridiculously good soul-infused hip hop. We got the first official single from the El-P/Killer Mike collective know as Run The Jewels. Black Hippy made the most listenable version of UOENO. I discovered M.I, Murph Watkins, and New Zealand DJ/producer P-Money. Oh, and Thaione Davis is still alive. Enjoy the free shit, I'll see yall again next month.

Kannon Presents - Best Songs of April 2013

Last month I found myself having to make a bunch of last minute cuts to get this list down to 20 songs... This month I found myself struggling to come up with 20. I dont know if music was just shitty this month, or if I was just stubborn this month. However! April did bring some dope music too. We saw Tyler The Creator release his sophomore album, and it didn't suck. Miguel grabbed Kendrick Lamar for a dope remix. Krayzie Bone, Zion I and Sid Sriram all released cool new EPs. Jay-Z made life difficult for the president for about a week. Hieroglyphics members Pep Love and Opio joined forces under the name First Light. Common stopped rapping with Big Sean and actually put out some classic sounding Common material. Joey Bada$$ rapped on the same track with Raekwon and Black Thought. Big K.R.I.T. released an incredible new mixtape. James Blake finally put out his sophomore album. And I even threw a little Jazz at the end... So enjoy the sounds of April with me.

Kannon Presents - The Best Of March 2013

I was gonna try to throw this together after work tomorrow, but my plans for tonight fell through. Everyone I know is sick. So here I am, bringing you the 20 illest joints from March 2013. Some dope new shit in this mix too. This month, we saw C Plus reunite with Ski Beatz for a 5 track free EP. Justin Timberlake released one of the dopest collections of music in recent years. Schoolboy Q, John Legend, Big K.R.I.T. and AEli all dropped the first single for their upcoming respective albums. ANTHM linked up with Blu for a stupid dope EP. Drake put on his serious face. Substantial linked back up with Marcus D for an amazing remix to one of his "Home Is Where The Art Is" tracks. I was late on the newest Magic Heart Genies album that dropped last december. Jay-Z hopped on a Kendrick Lamar remix, and Kendrick outshined the shit out of him. TiRon & Ayomari dropped more hot fire. And I discovered Kyle, Roosh Williams, City Lights and The Bullitts. Not a bad month.

Oh, and if you didn't know; If you don't want to download the full zip file with all 20 songs, you can listen to the whole collection on audiomack below, and right-click-save-link-as to any of the songs you want, and save each individual joint. Now you know.

Kannon's Favorite Songs of January 2013

I've decided I'm gonna start doing these little playlists of my favorite songs of each month. Keep in mind, these songs weren't all released this month, they are just the songs that I've enjoyed most this month. Everything from hip hop to r&b to random ass emo shit like Brolin and Phantom. And this website Audiomack has just become my favorite thing in the world, You can actually stream each song individually, see which ones you like and then download if you want to. Awesome. Anyways, hit that shit and go crazy.
