In celebration of the upcoming Fly.Union project, "The Greater Than Club," I decided to (re)introduce you all to the Value Pack series.
I can say pretty confidently that I introduced Monk to the music of Fly.U, and Im happy to say that he's on board. Now, in telling monk that I was going to post this today, I may or may not have (but definitely did) accidentally texted "Ive got a present for you. Im gonna put it up on the blog tonight." to my ex-girlfriend, hahaha. So, just in case she decided to drop by to see what I was talking about, I wanna shout out (and apologize to) the lovely Ms. Briggs, haha.
Now back to the music... Over the past 2 years, the members of Fly.U have been dropping these little EPs every few months. Each one features a track or two by the group as a whole, a solo joint by Jerreau and Monkey Wrench, and usually a guest spot by another dope emcee (Big Sean, Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, Chip Tha Ripper, etc.). After releasing the first 4 tapes (of 4 songs a piece), they released the Super Pack; a collection of all of the previously released tracks together, plus about 9 new joints. After that, they continued with tradition, and released 2 more Value Packs. And now their official full-length, The Greater Than Club, is finally dropping later this month.
