Phonte - The Good Fight

One more new joint from Phonte. I'm super pumped for this album. September 27th is going to be a good day for hip hop. The quality of this one sounds kinda meh, and it skips a couple times. I was thinking about fixing the skips, but whatever, just go buy the album Charity Starts At Home when it drops September 27th. Oh, and this one is produced by 9th, who is said to have handled a majority of the album. And I'd tell you to go pre-order it, but the pre-orders are already sold out...

While 9th readies the long-awaited release of his new album, The Wonder Years, on September 27th, he lets go of the Maxi Single for Band Practice Part 2. It includes Band Practice Parts 1 & 2, the Instrumental for Part 1, and the Remix to Make It Big featuring Big Remo.

Phonte ft. Elzhi - Not Here Anymore

Phonte drops off his first single from the upcoming album, Charity Starts At Home, which drops September 27th on +FE Music. This is definitely my most anticipated album at the moment. This also answers the question to whether 'Te would be rapping or singing on this new album... Both. I'm with it. #NEWTIGALLONEWTIGALLONEWTIGALLONEWTIGALLONEWTIGALLO

Median – The Sender (prod. 9th Wonder)

Median links up with 9th Wonder to drop this fucking BANGER. The Sender is set to come out later on this year via Foreign Exchange.

September 27th, 2011...

I had to bring this one back up to the top as another album was just announced... This time coming from Dilated Peoples member, Evidence. Cats And Dogs will also drop September 27th, aka "G.O.O.D. Music Day" hahahahahaha. Get it? Cause last year they tried to drop a ton of albums on the same day in september... You know what, if you dont get it, it's not gonna be funny to you. Leave me alone.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big K.R.I.T. just added his name to the list of names releasing albums on September 27th, 2011. It's gearing up to be a very good day for Hip Hop... We'll see how many of these get moved between now and then... The albums slated for release as of now are...

Evidence - Cats And Dogs
Big K.R.I.T. - Live From The Underground
J. Cole - Cole World: The Sideline Story
Yelawolf - Radioactive
And currently unnamed solo projects from both 9th Wonder and Phonte.

Which one are you most excited for!? As excited as I am for Cole's album, I have a musical crush on Phonte...

Rapsody - Thank H.E.R. Now (Mixtape)

I'm still kinda on the fence about this chick. That joint that she dropped with Mac Miller was kinda dope. But I dont know. I'm skeptical. If you wanna grab the album, go for it. 9th Wonder signed her, and he's got a good chunk of the production on here. She's also got features from Laws, Big K.R.I.T., Phonte, Jean Grae, Mac Miller, Murs, Raekwon and many more... So who knows. That sounds like a good list of co-signs to me... Hit the download link, and you can stream the album first. See if you like it...

Rapsody ft. Mac Miller - Extra Extra (Video)

The Wonder Year - Trailer from LRG on Vimeo.

So, LRG and Director Kenneth Price went ahead and did a day in the life documentary. But instead of it being a day, they went ahead and followed the N. Carolina beatsmith around for a full year and condensed the footage into just over an hour. Not sure when the release is scheduled, but check out the trailer. Looks pretty damn good.

ANTICIPATION (Part 2)

So, Ive come across a few cool announcements over the last few days, nothing really warranting its own post until now. This one is good news for me, and hopefully you too. Cause if you dont care, then you probably dont like music at all...

Phonte Coleman is prepping a brand new Solo album for release on September 13th! The date is special to him because its the 6 year anniversary of the release of Little Brother's The Minstrel Show. Also, He's announced that since he and 9th squashed their "beef" a few months back, 9th has produced a majority of the new record. Ive been wanting to get some new Phonte music from the minute I finished listening to The Foreign Exchange's Authenticity. Phonte is definitely top 5 dead or alive.

Next up, the Slum Village alumni finally sets a date for his first solo LP since the official SV split, Elmatic. Its set for a May 10th release. Along with the new Lonely Island album, Turtleneck and Chain, and Tyler The Creator's first in-store release, Goblin.

And finally, Joey adds 5 new joints to Mood Muzik 4, and sets to re-release it exclusively on his website here, May 17th.

I feel like Im missing something else... If it comes to me, I'll add it... But for now, Im pretty hyped about all of these... Moreso the first two... But still...
