ANTICIPATION!

There's a few albums that Im really looking forward to... Two projects specifically. Both were members of the 2009 XXL Freshmen list, which was (in my opinion) the dopest freshman/new school list they've done. Both emcees have signed up with Warner Bros. and hopefully they will retain some of their creative control during their upcoming works...

The first project is from your girl's favorite color, Blu. Now, I hate to admit this, since "Below The Heavens" is one of my favorite albums of all time (more on that soon), but I kinda slept on Blu's mixtapes after 2009. He dropped CRAC Knucks with Ta'Raach, and then the Johnson & Jonson album with Mainframe, but then he got on this lo-fi kick, and started putting out mixtapes with this bad-quality, one long mp3 style. I'm a bit of an audiophile, so its tough for me to listen to music that is purposely made to sound kinda bad. Not really bad, but old. I dont know... But now, The Her Favorite Colour mixtape is being re-released by Warner on April 19th as a fully mixed and mastered tape. And Im kinda excited to re-discover it...

Also, Blu says that the new LP NoYork! will be dropping this summer. He also says that he's got about 3 albums worth of material for it, so we may see a new mixtape drop before the album. He and Exile are also working on a new album, which doesnt have a title yet, but will definitely NOT be called "Below The Heavens 2."

The second collection of music that Im anticipating is the new free EP from JETS frontman, Curren$y. Also recently signed to Warner Bros., Curren$y has linked up with Alchemist to release a brand new EP on April 20th (4/20 anyone?), called Covert Coup. Spitta also secured an imprint on Warner for his lable Jets International. The only good thing I see coming from that is a Fiend album. Im just saying, I could do without a Young Roddy or Trademark album. Anyways... Back to Covert Coup...

Curren$y is also prepping his EP Muscle Car Chronicles which should be out in the next few months, which also comes with a dvd...

Stay tuned... Jets, FOOL.
