Kannon's Favorite Songs of January 2013

I've decided I'm gonna start doing these little playlists of my favorite songs of each month. Keep in mind, these songs weren't all released this month, they are just the songs that I've enjoyed most this month. Everything from hip hop to r&b to random ass emo shit like Brolin and Phantom. And this website Audiomack has just become my favorite thing in the world, You can actually stream each song individually, see which ones you like and then download if you want to. Awesome. Anyways, hit that shit and go crazy.

MMG ft. Kendrick Lamar - Power Circle

Rozay and the Maybach Music Group gather the ranks, including Gunplay, who seems to be getting more solo shine lately, which is cool with me, for their new video with TDE/Aftermath's Kendrick Lamar. #HASHTAGRUNONSENTENCES

Wale ft. Rick Ross & Fabolous - Albert Pujols

Dope new joint from Mr. No-Days-Off, The Fattest Bawse, and Fabo-Loso. This shit goes. And I like it. ALBERT POO HOLES!

Wale ft. Lil Duval - Fairy Tales (Video)

New set of visuals from Wale's Eleven One Eleven Theory Mixtape. #AssAssAssAssAssAss [/bigseanvoice]

Throwback Of The Day: Wale ft. Skyzoo - Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Back in 2008, when Wale was still gaining his momentum, gearing up for his Mixtape About Nothing release, he dropped this gem with Skyzoo. Now, I know 2008 doesnt really qualify as a Throwback, but for some reason I was itching to listen to this song for the last few days, and I figured I'd share it with you while I was at it...They call it the Hacksaw Jim Duggan because of the 4x4 flow. Meaning Skyzoo and Wale go 4 bars back and forth during the whole song. This was just the start of the many Wale/Skyzoo collaborations.

But Hacksaw Jim Duggan had a 2x4...

Tyga ft. Wale, Fabolous, Young Jeezy, Meek Mill & T.I. - Rack City Remix

My guilty pleasure song of the moment not only gets the visual treatment, but it also gets the remix treatment. Careless World is available now, and it's surprisingly better than I thought it would be.

Torch ft. Meek Mill, Wale, Stalley & Triple C's - Slow Down

If you dont know who Torch is, you're not alone. If I mention the group Triple C's and you didnt know who I was talking about, you also wouldnt be alone. However, if I told you to think hard and remember that a few years ago Rick Ross released a group album, you might be like, "Oh word. I remember that." Torch is from that group. And now that gets you features from the rest of MMG (even if they are all leaps and bounds better than you).

Teyana Taylor ft. Wale - Make Your Move

G.O.O.D. Music's latest songstress signee links up with the Maybach Music emcee for a dope new joint. Dookie chains for everyone.

Rick Ross, Wale & Meek Mill – Bag Of Money

The MMG (No not MelloMusic Group) train keeps on rolling. This time with a single that is due out on the labels Self Made Vol. 2. Also from what I'm hearing West Coast spitter Nipsey Hussle is expected to sign. Here's to hoping he gets a few tracks on SMVII.

Red Cafe ft. Trey Songz, Wale & J. Cole - Fly Together (Remix)

...Is Red Cafe like 4 feet tall? Anyways, he's extra meh on the mic, but this joint features new verses from Trigga, Wale & Cole. So add it to your playlist or something. Red Cafe's new album, No One Cares About Me, is coming out never.

Wale - Chain Music (Video)

I cant speak for Monk and Poet, but the new singles Ive been hearing have been mad uninspired. But on the flipside, the fourth quarter of oh-11 has seen some of this years illest albums being released (ASAP Rocky, Drake, The Roots, Wale, Action Bronson, etc). So I apologize for the lack of posts lately, shit has just been super boring on the singles tip.

That being said, lets post some more videos of dope shit...

Take what you will from Wale's new single, but this is the shit that I point to whenever someone says that Wale "sold out." Argue it if you want, but I love this song...

In other news, 3:07 might be my favorite thing ever.

Wale ft. Rick Ross - Tats On My Arm (Video)

I dropped the song a couple weeks ago, and now the two Maybach front runners are here to drop off the video. I guess the reason this didn't make Wale's album, Ambition, is because they were saving it for the upcoming MMG compilation, Self Made Vol. 2.

Wale ft. Rick Ross - Tats On My Arm

If you havent yet listened to the new Wale album, Ambition, I would recommend that you do so immediately. It's easily one of my favorite albums of the year so far. Its also got one of the strangest varying tracklists Ive ever seen. If you download the regular album, you get 13 tracks. If you buy the physical album, you get 15 tracks. If you download the deluxe edition, you get 16 tracks. Well, I bought the physical album, downloaded track 16, and then added "Bad Girls Club" with J. Cole as track 17, and this joint with Rawse as track 18. This beat is crazy dope, but part of me can see why it was left off the album. But either way, I wanted youre album to be complete like mine... So enjoy TATS ALL ON MY ARMS...

Wale ft. Rick Ross & Kevin Cossom - Best Night Ever

I can finally say with no hesitation that I thoroughly enjoy this Wale joint. He's been a little hit/miss lately. But this one is super illy... Ambition 11.1.11

Wale ft. Jeremih & Rick Ross - That Way (Video)

After 3 videos, my favorite joint from Maybach Music's Self Made Vol. 1 gets the visual treatment too. Wale's Ambition drops 11.1.11

Wale - Sugar Hill Freestyle

Wale drops off his new mixtape two days ago, and just to let you know that he's still working, he's already got another new joint for you... This time, over the classic AZ instrumental. #NoDaysOff. Ambition coming 11.1.11

Wale - The Eleven One Eleven Theory (Mixtape)

As scheduled, Wale releases his brand new mixtape, The Eleven One Eleven Theory. MAYBACH MUSIC. Oh, also Ambition is coming in like November or something. I dont remember exactly.

Wale ft. TCB - Bait

Rumored to be the 2nd single from Wale's upcoming Maybach Music debut, Ambition, which is due out November 1st. This joint is produced by Tone P.

Wale - No One Be Like You

Wale jumps on this track originally released by some guy named P Square? I dont know, its got 7 million+ views on youtube, but I've never heard the song...
