That Cynical Bastard - To Find Yours (Instrumental Album)

What good is running a blog if I can't use it for a little shameless self promotion? Anyways here goes my first instrumental/beat tape project that I've ever released. It's a collection of shit that was created pretty much from the beginning of the year till now. Enjoy it, share it, do what you do. Hope you enjoy it. Props to my primo joe for the artwork.

Tall Black Guy - 8 Miles To Moenart (Instrumental Album)

I first heard of Tall Black Guy when he linked up with The Primeridian a couple years back for one of my favorite slept on albums of 2011. So when I randomly came across his name today, I immediately clicked the link. And GOTDAMN do my earlobes thanked me. This dude makes some of the illest jazzy laid back instrumental compositions I've heard. Stream it below for free, or drop 6 of those weird L's to grab it forever.

Thelonious Martin – Sleep Pattern

The rapidly rising soundsmith Thelonious Martin keeps building a pretty stellar foundation. The young kid has consistently put out incredibly lush production. Saw this on his Soundcloud and just had to share.

Mndsgn – frugal earth (Instrumental)

I've pretty much stopped posting instrumental releases on here. Not exactly intentional...but I spotted this in the inbox today and thought it was interesting. That and they slopped up that Oh Honey joint form Delegation, which is always dope. Check it out. It's about 28 mins of minimal chops and slowing down of some classic soul and then blends right in to some ambient shit. Pretty good listen if you ask me.

Lee Bannon - Caligula Theme Music 2.7.5. (Instrumental EP)

If you've been following my post over the years, you may know that I'm a huge Lee Bannon supporter. Over those years he's went from the soulful sample based production from Me & Marvin to chop heavy instrumentalist on Box of Toys 1&2, to this gritty & dark stylings on this nod to the BRK movement.

The homie EQ and Potholes have joined forces to put out Parallel, A free Instrumental project that the Cali transplant has crafted. Emcees fall back, this isn't a beat tape type deal. This is a project crafted with a wide vision for the entire project in mind. From beginning to the last high hat this project is smoothly moved along by the effortless layers upon layers of blended chops and live drum programming. Classy Hoes Presents: Parallel Thought – Eccentric Breaks & Beats Volume 2

A little late on this, But none the less, Just a little something to ride too. I can pretty much guarantee you that this will be the best thing you listen to this weekend.

With 2011 being Parallel Thought's 10 year anniversary, they decided to create a project that would represent the hard work they had put in over the past decade. Being a classic hip hop production group, their appreciation for samples and the artists of an older era seemed natural to evolve the project into a instrumental mix of beats, breaks and edits of songs that moved the soul. By choosing one labels library (the mighty Numero Group) to use as the source for their musical collage, they found creative freedom to use parts of samples that would normally be avoided in conventional hip-hop because of clearance issues. In the sprit of the culture, the idea and project itself was very spontaneous and began without permission from anyone. This turned into a challenge for the group who knew that the only right way for the project to come out would be to impress the label who’s records they sampled enough to agree to its release. With the blessing from Numero, this project truly does showcase how music from the past can still lay the foundation for music of the present. For a 10-year anniversary release, we at Parallel Thought, could not be prouder, heres our gift to you!

Equalibrum - This Love (Instrumental)

A few days late with this one, but whatever. Equalibrum is probably more known for his work with Intuition on both of his first two albums. Widely still an unknown producer, I've been hoping for years now that, that view would change. The kid's layering and ability to create beautiful soundscapes is second to none. Point blank he's one of the best producers doing it right now. & on Valentines Day he decided to let go a freebie. Normally that tag would mean it would be a dusty old, somewhat unfinished beat that the producer didn't deem quality enough to push in the right manner....not here. Check this heat out.
